2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Pricing and Details

The mainstream midsize electric SUV market, which the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E have had to themselves for the last couple of years, is about to get very interesting. Announced last summer, the Chevrolet Blazer EV will be shipping to dealers this August, with the first deliveries happening in early fall. The first model to arrive in dealerships will actually be one of the most popular models, the Blazer EV RS AWD, with further variations to follow in late 2023 and early 2024.

Chevrolet Blazer EV RS AWD: 279 Miles of Range

With a starting MSRP of $54,595 – down from $60,215 when originally announced – the Blazer RS AWD comes with a 102-kWh battery which gives this dual-motor electric SUV an estimated 279 miles of range, according to the U.S. EPA. Standard equipment on this middle trim level includes a large 17.7-inch infotainment system, 11-inch digital instrument cluster, heated seats and steering wheel, “Evotex” synthetic leather seating, wireless phone charging, and a power liftgate. Its outside is decorated with unique gloss-black styling elements including a special “grille,” 21-inch wheels, and even animated exterior lighting.

Blazer EV LT AWD: Sporty Exterior Trim

Arriving in late 2023, the Blazer EV LT AWD shares the RS model’s 102-kWh battery and its EPA-estimated 279 miles of range. Its interior includes all of the same features as the RS model, except for its flat-bottomed steering wheel, though its exterior is decidedly less fancy, with conventional LED lights and smaller wheels. Driver assistance features are the same as the RS trim level, and include adaptive cruise control, 360-degree surround vision with multiple cameras, and more. The starting MSRP for the Blazer EV LT AWD was recently cut from $56,715 to $50,195.

Blazer EV RS RWD: Range Champion with 320 Miles

Then there is the Blazer RS RWD. Interestingly, this rear-wheel drive version is more expensive than the all-wheel drive RS, with a starting MSRP of $56,170 – reduced from $67,190. Thanks to its rear-wheel drive setup, range jumps from 279 to an estimated 320 miles, according to the EPA, and a Bose audio system is added to the list of standard features. Otherwise, it looks the same as the Blazer RS AWD from the outside, and shares all of its interior creature comforts and active safety systems.

Other Models to Come

Chevrolet hasn’t announced a final starting MSRP for the Blazer EV SS model, which features a unique AWD setup that produces 557 hp and 648 lb-ft of torque, enough to blast the Blazer SS to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. Intriguingly, the powertrain of the Blazer SS will also make its way into a police pursuit vehicle (PPV) model available only to law enforcement, making for a very fast, powerful, and capable electric police car.

Made in the U.S., all Blazer models should qualify for up to $7,500 in federal incentives, if buyers meet the necessary qualifications. That brings the effective pricing of the LT AWD into the mid-forties - great value for the technology and size of vehicle.

Chevrolet Blazer EV: Charging Performance

All Blazer EVs also feature excellent charging speeds. Using a Level 2 AC charger, the Blazer EV can charge at up to 11.5 kW – a step up from most mainstream EVs – and up to 190 kW is possible on Level 3 DC fast chargers. GM estimates that up to 78 miles of range can be added in 10 minutes. That charging performance puts the new Blazer a step above both the Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y – with similar range estimates and a newer platform.
