2022 Volkswagen ID.4

Known for its high degree of comfort and a EPA estimated range of 250-mile range, the ID.4 is VW’s second EV to debut in America. The German automaker says that this small crossover is aimed at converting car shoppers to zero emission vehicles, competing with gasoline-powered rivals Honda’s CR-V and Toyota’s RAV4. With a starting MSRP of $41,190, it is the lowest priced premium EV SUV in our group. After federal and local tax credits and rebates, it is even a better deal. This five-seater comes in three trim levels, and an all-wheel drive version is coming soon.

2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Ford knocked it out of the park with the Mach-E last year. This crossover offers an efficient and sporty ride, ample cargo room, and lots of safety and driver assist features. This five-seater comes in four trim levels, the most popular of which is the Select AWD variant, retailing at $46,695. The Mach-E gives you great value in its class and a lot of standard features. Though it is a crossover and not a sedan, it handles like a true performance car, earning its Mustang badge.

2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge

Known for safety and elegance, the all-electric XC40 Recharge offers a 402-horsepower motor for amazing acceleration and a EPA estimated range of 208 miles. All-wheel drive comes standard for extra traction when needed. On the inside, the Recharge showcases Swedish minimalist design with advanced safety features. This five-seater comes in two trim levels, the most popular of which is the P8 Twin Ultimate eAWD, priced at $59,245. The Recharge delivers comfort, range, and functional style.

2022 Audi E-Tron

The new E-Tron is one of the most stylish, sophisticated and advanced all-electric crossover SUVs available today. It offers truly sporty handling, instant acceleration, and a EPA estimated range of 222 miles before it needs a recharge. This spacious five-seater comes in six trim levels, the most popular of which is the Premium SUV, starting at $66,995. You get Audi’s trademark style, a luxurious interior, and cutting-edge tech. The driver assist features border on autonomous travel.

2022 Jaguar I-PACE

The I-Pace, launched in 2019, is Jaguar’s first all-electric vehicle. It is one of the few high luxury all-electric SUVs on the market with car-like handling, high performance thrills, and a very quiet cabin. Only one trim level is available in this five-seater and MSRP begins at $69,900. EPA estimated range is 234 miles before it needs to be plugged in and the I-Pace delivers 394 horsepower through two electric motors. This jazzy Jag uses a 90-kWh battery pack and all-wheel drive is standard.
