Used electric cars have traditionally commanded a price premium over used gasoline cars thanks to their new technology and performance. But increasing inventories and uncertainty has pushed used EV prices lower – to the point where many are more affordable than gasoline vehicles. That’s according to the latest data from iSeeCars.

The headlines are full of doom and gloom about slowing electric car sales. But data from the first quarter of 2024 shows that while sales growth hasn’t been as explosive as years past, many brands continue to accelerate their transition to EV.

Ford is at it again, adjusting prices of its electric vehicles to keep up with shifting demand. This time, the popular F-150 Lightning electric pickup has received a round of cuts, with one of the most popular models now starting below $70,000 MSRP.

GM’s online resource for speaking to an actual person about any charging, driving range and other EV questions continues – while former Live forums for Cadillac and other GM brands have been discontinued.

The federal tax incentive of up to $7,500 can make an electric car much more affordable. But up until now, you had to wait until tax time to receive the financial benefit of going electric. Now, dealers can apply the incentive at purchase – making the savings instantaneous. 

The recently-announced Tesla Cybetruck is more expensive than originally predicted, but the all-wheel drive and Cyberbeast models will be eligible for the $7,500 federal tax rebate – at least for now. Limited deliveries of the stainless-steel truck have only just begun.
