Daymak’s Spiritus Electric Vehicle Mines Cryptocurrency
In the ever-expanding world of electric vehicle technology, what could possibly be next? Would you believe a tycoon trike that actually mines cryptocurrency? A Canadian company called Daymak that is known for building EV scooters and e-bikes is aiming to do just that.
The onboard computer inside Daymak’s new Spiritus three-wheeler solves cryptographic equations and algorithms in order to earn cryptocurrencies while it is charging. The company says its block-chain technology lets the Spiritus mine everything from Bitcoin to Dogecoin.
Daymak says the Spiritus will include a GPU (processor) that supports a patent-pending system known as Nebula that uses a miner to collect the coins and a digital wallet that stores them for future use. Naturally, there’s also an app that displays all the crypto info on your smartphone.
“We envision a future where your highway tolls, your parking fees and your drive-thru order will be paid directly on the fly with crypto. Your online bills and your banking can be handled through the same software platform paid in crypto,” Daymak president Aldo Baiocchi said in a recent statement. “And whereas most vehicles are depreciating while they sit in your garage, the Nebula Miner will make you money while your Spiritus is parked.”
According to Baiocchi, the emissions-free Deluxe trim two-seater is fitted with solar panels and a 75 kWh battery pack that delivers up to 150 horsepower to its electric motor. The 370 pound Spiritus is reported to go from zero to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds and has a range of 180 miles on a charge.
The base model of the Spiritus has an MSRP of $19,995 and is expected to launch in 2023. Daymak has already received over 4,000 pre-orders for its motorized crypto miner.
