What Electric Vehicles are Coming Soon?
When it comes to all-electric vehicles, the future looks mighty bright! In the next few years automakers all over the globe are creating amazing new EVs in every size and shape imaginable. From sleek sedans and clever crossovers to technology laden SUVs and incredibly quick pickup trucks. Speaking of speed, there are even dazzling sportscars and muscle cars that are going all-electric. Dozens of brand new models of all-electric vehicles are on the drawing boards from venerable car manufacturers and new upstart companies alike.
GreenCars is keeping its fingers on the pulse of the EV world, and we are extremely excited to introduce you to some of the electrified wonders that will be making their way into showrooms soon. The following thirty future EVs are listed in alphabetical order by automaker.
Acura ZDX – coming in 2024
Based on the Honda Prologue, this is Acura’s first all-electric crossover SUV. The entry level version will have one electric motor at the back axle for 340 horsepower. A performance-oriented Type S will feature two motors for all-wheel drive and close to 500 hp.
Audi A6 e-tron – coming in late 2023
This sexy sedan will offer Audi’s latest tech and a range of over 400 miles on a charge. The dual-motor, all-wheel drive luxury executive car will offer a combined output of 469 horses and an 800-volt charging capability.
Bentley EV models – coming in 2025
The bespoke automaker will soon be making ultra-luxury EV models. In fact, the British brand hopes to become a global leader in what it calls “sustainable luxury mobility.” It will replace its existing Bentayga, Continental GT coupe and convertible, and Flying Spur models with all-electric versions by 2030.
Buick Electra E5 – coming in late 2024
The Electra is back (what a perfect name for an EV) in an entirely new crossover SUV package. Powered by GM’s Ultium battery platform, the E5 hopes to have range and performance similar to the Cadillac Lyriq with a range of 300 miles and 340 hp.
Cadillac Celestiq – coming in late 2024
Speaking of Caddy, the luxury carmaker hopes to once again be known as the “Standard of the World” with this bespoke, extravagant, and meticulously crafted executive car. Each Celestiq will be hand-made and cost over $300k. Is the world ready for a 600-hp hatchback?
Canoo Pickup Truck – coming in 2024
This startup EV company from California is producing a futuristic pickup truck with over 200 miles of range and 500 horsepower. Canoo tells us the truck will be available in six- to eight-foot beds and you can pre-order one right now.
Chevrolet Blazer EV – coming late 2023
New for the 2024 model year, the all-electric Chevy Blazer EV will be offered in several trim levels, from a low priced 1LT all the way to the performance-oriented SS made to smoke the gas-powered Camaro. With 320 miles of range, it is poised to take on the Mustang Mach-E.
Chevrolet Equinox EV – coming late in 2023
This sharp-looking compact crossover will offer 250 miles of range and 210 horsepower in its base trim. All-wheel drive is an option with higher trim levels bringing in 300 miles of range and 290 hp. DC Fast Charging will add 70 miles of range in just 10 minutes!
Chevrolet Silverado EV – coming in late 2023
Chevy’s EV trifecta is complete with an electrified version of its popular pickup. The Silverado EV will bring you 400 miles on a charge using GM’s Ultium battery pack. Dual motors and all-wheel drive will pack up to 664 horsepower to tow 10,000 pounds. Look out, Ford Lightning.
Chrysler Airflow – coming in 2025
This high styled crossover will ride on Chrysler’s new EV platform called STLA Medium. Its single motor version will offer 201 horses and hopes to take you 440 miles on a charge. A dual motor, all-wheel drive trim will be available to take on rivals Volvo XC40 and Mustang Mach-E.
Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV – coming in 2024
The world’s first EV muscle car will offer a high-tech meaty roar to go with 455 horsepower in base trim. A higher electron 590 hp variant will be available but wait… Dodge says a top-of-the-line Banshee model will pack an 800-volt battery pack and face-peeling 800+ horsepower!
Fiat 500e – coming in 2024
The able two-door hatchback will be back next year in an all-electric form. Its 117-horsepower electric motor and 32.3-kWh battery pack will take you around 200 miles on a charge. The 500e’s retro charm meets the future with a 10.3-inch touchscreen offering the latest Uconnect5 software.
Fisker Ocean – coming in late 2023
Coming in four trim levels, the baseline Sport version has a single motor and front-wheel drive. Other Ocean models have dual motors and all-wheel drive. This sleek SUV will offer 550 horses and hit zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. It also uses a solar-powered roof to charge itself!
Ford Explorer EV – coming in late 2023
This all-american automaker’s most popular SUV is the three-row Explorer, and it will soon be offered as an all-electric vehicle hot on the heels of its successful F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E. Ford hopes to make EVs 40 percent of its lineup by 2030.
Genesis GV70 EV – coming in late 2023
This luxury SUV has an electric motor at each axle for a total of 483 horsepower and offers the latest in driver assist features including forward collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance, lane-keep assist, highway driving assist, and navigation-based smart cruise control.
GMC Sierra EV – coming in early 2024
This full-size all-electric pickup truck will debut with the high-end Denali Edition offering up 754 horsepower and all-wheel drive to take you 400 miles on a charge. A rear-wheel steering system lets it “crab walk” and its Super Cruise system comes close to autonomous travel.
Honda Prologue – coming in 2024
In a joint effort with GM, Honda is debuting its all-electric crossover that is similar in size to its Passport model. Sharing components and battery packs with the Chevy Blazer, the Prologue will offer a base range of 250 miles and up to 320 miles of range depending on trim level.
Hyundai Ioniq 7 – coming in late 2024
Similar in size to Hyundai’s three-row Palisade SUV, the roomy Ioniq 7 will be built on the same E-GMP platform used for its Ioniq sedan. A robust battery pack will charge from 10 to 80 percent on DC Fast Charging in just 20 minutes and range is said to exceed 300 miles.
Jeep Recon – coming in 2024
Positioned as the first fully electric rock crawler by Jeep, the new Recon is decked out for off-road thrills. This mid-size SUV has an available power-folding roof and removable doors similar to the Jeep Wrangler. You can reserve yours now for delivery sometime in 2024.
Kia EV9 – coming in late 2023
The mighty three-row SUV that Kia calls the EV9 looks to be as large as its massive Telluride but in an all-electric package. It shares its platform with the Hyundai Ioniq 7 and depending on trim level, it will be available in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive with a range of around 300 miles.
Lexus RZ450e – coming in late 2023
Sharing its platform with the Toyota bZ4x, the Lexus RZ450e crossover offers a more upscale cabin, sportier looks and a full suite of driver assist features. The two-motor, all-wheel drive Direct4 powertrain will give you 308 horsepower and take you around 220 miles on a charge.
Lincoln Star – coming late in 2024
Lincoln’s first EV is a swoopy mid-size crossover available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. Its dramatic interior features a full dash width digital display with every bell and whistle. The plush and luxurious interior will point the way to other future EVs by Lincoln.
Maserati Grecale Folgore – coming late in 2023
Folgore is Italian for “lightning” and this is an all-electric version of Maserati’s Grecale crossover. The automaker says the EV will sport a big 105-kWh battery pack for exceptional range and all-wheel drive. We expect this car to be fast too. After all, it’s a Maserati.
Polestar 3 – coming in 2024
An offshoot of Volvo, the Polestar 3 crossover will offer forward-think design and the latest tech. Its available with your choice of a dual-motor 489 horsepower drivetrain that will take you 300 miles on a charge or the Performance trim 517-hp variant with 270 miles of range.
Porsche Macan EV – coming in late 2024
The best-selling Macan crossover SUV is now all-electric with an 800-volt battery pack that will take you over 300 miles on a charge. It is the first Porsche to utilize its Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform for faster charging and upper trim levels will include rear-axle steering.
Ram 1500 REV – coming in 2024
The designers at Ram hope to “one up” Ford’s F-150 Lightning in every way possible with the new Ram 1500 REV all-electric truck. Its STLA frame will feature all-wheel drive and promises to beat the Ford in terms of horsepower, range and towing capacity. How does 500 miles on a charge sound?
Sony-Honda Afeela Sedan – coming in 2026
A futuristic four-door sedan by Sony Honda Mobility is coming and promises to offer Level 3 autonomous travel “under limited conditions” thanks to 45 video cameras and various sensors around the vehicle. The folks at Sony say they hope to “create a new value standard for mobility.”
Tesla Cybertruck – coming maybe sometime in 2024
We all remember when aliens downloaded the Cybertruck into Elon Musk’s brain several years ago. Since then, production of the stainless-steel marvel has been delayed several times. It promises a driving range of 500 miles and will tow 14,000 pounds. But when?
Volkswagen ID.Buzz – coming in 2024
Unlike the Cybertruck, here’s an electrified take on the VW microbus that everyone is looking forward to. The ID.Buzz offers a spacious interior and three rows of flexible seating. Driving range is said to be 260 miles and the dual-motor version will make an estimated 295 horsepower.
Volvo EX90 – coming in 2024
Volvo’s first-ever ground-up EV will arrive with a dual-motor, all-wheel drive powertrain offering 496 horses and a range of 300 miles. The flagship SUV will showcase the Swedish automaker’s latest driver assist safety technology in what it says is its safest car ever.
