An EV Supercar

The famous Italian automaker will be debuting six new vehicles this year including a replacement for the SF90 Stradale and one of them is an all-new, all-electric car called the Elettrica. The plan is to launch the new EV during Capital Markets Day on October 9th and Ferrari says it will unveil the new vehicle in a very unique way. We can’t wait.

Indeed, Ferrari has a big year in store for us. After record sales in 2024, delivering nearly 14,000 vehicles all across the world, including its first SUV, the Purosangue. Its sales brought in nearly $7 billion dollars. To keep this momentum going, the legendary automaker will release six new models for 2025, and one of them is an EV.

A Quick Look Back

Enzo Ferrari started manufacturing luxury sports cars in 1940 from his plant in Maranello and the company went public in 1960. Known for participating in Formula One racing since 1929, the company has many records under its belt. In fact, Ferrari’s brand is truly built around its racing heritage, and its supercars include the SF90 Stradale mid-engine plug-in hybrid, the 2024 12Cilindri V12 Grand Tourer, and the F80 hybrid V6.

A Glance Forward

For 2025 a 296 model will become more racetrack ready, known as the Versione Speciale, it may also be available as a convertible. But for GreenCars fans, the big news is the unveiling of Ferrari’s first-ever all-electric vehicle this October. So far, spy photos have shown a prototype of the EV clad in a modified Maserati Levante body with Roma headlights but no one in the automotive press has seen the actual car yet. Thus far, the only hints come via Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna who tells us the new EV will be seen during Capital Markets Day on October 9th.

A New Era for Ferrari: The EV Revolution Begins

In fact, as of this writing, very little is known about the new electrified Ferrari, hence the abbreviated history lesson. But know this; when we find out more, we will rush the news to you, so you won’t have to keep looking at this image of last year’s SF90 Stradale. Rumor has it that the Elettrica will include a faux exhaust sound system similar to the new Dodge Charger Daytona e-muscle car that will produce exciting, though fake, engine sounds and that the car might retail at around an MSRP of $535,000.

Ferrari says that it is aiming for 60 percent of its sales to be EV or PHEV models by 2026. Last year, 51 percent of the automaker’s sales were hybrids.
