More EV Pickup Options from GM
We’re fans of the General Motors electric pickup trucks here at GreenCars, as they offer truly useful real-world range with the capability and space that pickup owners expect. While they are not the most efficient trucks, their large batteries mean that they can go further between charges than any other EV pickups and serve as useful power packs for tools and other equipment on job sites.
However, most of the consumer-grade models of the GM trucks, like the GMC Sierra EV, have only been available in very luxurious, six-figure trims. That’s starting to change now, and GMC is introducing two new versions of the Sierra EV with great features at much more attractive starting prices. The new Sierra EV AT4 and Sierra EV Elevation join the loaded-up Sierra EV Denali and lower the starting MSRP of an electric Sierra truck to $62,400.
GMC Sierra EV Elevation
The 2026 model year brings GMC’s popular Elevation trim to the Sierra EV lineup, a value-packed set of desirable features bundled with some stylish upgrades. The Elevation’s interior is enhanced with a 16.8-inch digital center touchscreen and “After Dark” interior trim, while on the outside, there are 18-inch machine-finished wheels with gloss black accents and additional gloss black trim.
Sierra EV Elevation buyers also get a power-operated eTrunk, which opens up to reveal a huge, covered cargo area, and the MultiPro tailgate and available MultiPro Midgate give excellent cargo flexibility.
Like other Sierra EVs, the Elevation has 800-volt DC fast charging capability, able to juice up at up to 300 kW on a compatible charger, and SuperCruise hands-free driver assistance is available.
GMC Sierra EV AT4
The 2026 Sierra EV AT4 combines the rugged all-terrain looks and impressive off-road capability of some of GMC’s toughest trucks with its electric pickup platform. Lifted coil suspension and 35-inch all-terrain tires are its signature look, along with rugged plastic body cladding and special badging. Inside, an AT4-exclusive interior features “Forest Storm” upholstery.
It’s not just about looks, though. The AT4 features an exclusive Terrain drive mode, which provides maximum precision and maneuverability off-road, with precise torque control, automatic braking, and one-pedal drive functionality. Standard four-wheel steering makes for tight turning circles and there’s even a “crabwalk” feature to slide diagonally into tight spaces. On the road, there’s also standard SuperCruise to make freeway trips more relaxing.
From a practicality standpoint, there is an available MultiPro MidGate expandable bed, which folds the rear wall of the cabin down to expand the cargo area, allowing items up to eleven feet in length, and the maximum towing capacity is 12,300 pounds.
GMC Sierra EV: Pricing and Availability
The Sierra EV lineup offers a wide selection of battery options: Standard, Extended and Max Range. The Sierra EV Elevation will be available with a Standard or Extended Range battery at starting MSRPs of $62,400 and $70,600, respectively.
The AT4 will be available with an Extended (starting MSRP: $79,300) or Max Range ($89,660) battery. EPA range estimates have yet to be announced. The top-of-the-line Denali has a starting MSRP of $69,700 for the Standard Range battery, $77,900 for the Extended Range, and $98,600 for the Max Range.
The 2026 Sierra EV will arrive at dealers this summer.
