And don't forget to have the seller include the charging cord and all associated hardware that came with the vehicle originally. Federal incentives are encouraging drivers to make the switch to electric. These incentives provide up to $7,500 for select new cars or up to $4,000 for some used cars, though a number of restrictions apply.
