This video offers maintenance tips for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). It covers routine checks and services, including battery care, oil changes, and tire maintenance. The video also provides advice on how to keep a PHEV running efficiently and prolong its lifespan.
Plug-in hybrid vehicles are popular, and they can be extremely fuel efficient. But in order to keep your plug-in hybrid in peak condition, there are a few things you'll want to keep in mind. All plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, or PHEVs, have both an electric motor and a gasoline-powered engine. Because of the traditional gas-powered engine, you will still need to carry out standard maintenance like oil and filter changes, coolant flushes, and the usual inspections associated with gasoline cars. You will also want to regularly have the tires checked for wear. Some additional checks should also happen with a plug-in hybrid. You should regularly check the battery, cooling system, charging port, and braking system. Because many of these functions require the right kind of diagnostic tester, a dealer is the best place to have your plug-in hybrid inspected. A battery health check will make sure the battery pack is operating properly to aid hybrid performance and efficiency. The charging port should always be inspected for any damage so parts can be replaced as needed. Just like gasoline-powered cars, the components of a plug-in hybrid should be checked when your car is in for an oil change. You can also find the automaker's specific service recommendations in your owner's manual. Thanks for watching.
